Working at home can be very convenient for some, but that doesn’t mean that others feel as comfortable as well. One thing that could be a disadvantage in working at home is that you tend to work the whole day, you cannot stop yourself from working even if you want to. But of course, there is always a solution to prevent it from happening. You’ll still look fresh and light if you will just take care of your skin properly.
To begin with, there is a very effective, simple, and inexpensive skincare active ingredient that we love. You might be wondering what is it? It is Benzoyl Peroxide, an ingredient that has a few strengths that make it ideal for targeting acne and breakouts.
Benzoyl peroxide facial washes have been trending especially PanOxyl foaming wash benzoyl peroxide 10% due to its effective use for the treatment of mild to severe acne. Benzoyl Peroxide is generally used on the skin to decrease the number of acne-causing bacteria by killing bacterial underneath the skin as well as helping the pores shed dead skin cells and excess sebum. We can classify Benzoyl peroxide as an antibacterial active ingredient in the PanOxyl facial wash lineup.
What is Benzoyl Peroxide?
Benzoyl peroxide is a chemical that’s put in a lot of skin vehicles to reduce both the bacterial count on the skin, as well as open up those keratin plugs. Usually, this active ingredient is only available in over-the-counter (OTC) as gels and creams but skincare manufacturers have found a way to manufacture cleansers, spot treatments in various doses for moderate to mild outbreaks for the general public. While benzoyl peroxide may efficiently clear your pores of germs and dead skin cells, it has limits. Benzoyl peroxide is generally used for acne treatment and acts as an antiseptic to decrease your skin’s surface quantity of germs (bacteria). Do note that unlike traditional treatments for acne such as clindamycin, benzoyl peroxide does not lead to antibiotic resistance by the skin. Benzoyl peroxide is often used as part of a face wash or just as a treatment cream. It comes in a variety of strengths and vehicles and usually is well-tolerated by people.
However, there might be some side effects include skin irritation, bleaching of clothes, or skin dryness, but if used effectively then it will result to clear skin. Generally, children from ages 10 and above can start using benzoyl peroxide in their skincare routine.

The answer is yes! PanOxyl Foaming Wash containing Benzoyl Peroxide does work for ance.
How to use PanOxyl Benzoyl Peroxide
As mentioned, benzoyl peroxide is ideal for targeting acne and breakouts. First of all, it is antibacterial, it helps to reduce the number of bacteria on the surface of your skin that contributes to acne, namely, propionibacterium acnes. These are the bacteria in our pores that contribute to acne and flares of acne. Benzoyl Peroxide can reduce the amount of that little bacteria on our skin.
Benzoyl Peroxide is also anti-inflammatory. A big part of what drives acne is inflammation coming into the skin and that inflammation leads to redness and abnormal proliferation of skin cells that plug up the pores and lead to acne. The anti-inflammatory properties of Benzoyl Peroxide along with its antibacterial properties make it a powerful ingredient. It has an ingredient as well that can dissolve the block blocked up and plugged of your pores. It’s the blockage that can set the stage for flares of acne.
In terms of using PanOxyl washes in your acne-fighting routine, step one is for example on your face – just use a gentle cleanser to remove makeup, sunscreen, mascara, whatever you have on your face before using. You don’t want to put Benzoyl Peroxide directly onto a film of dirt and makeup and water-resistant sunscreen. The Benzoyl Peroxide will begin to cause more irritation when mixed with those ingredients.
After you have rinsed off your cleanser and cosmetics, then wet your face and lather on the Benzoyl Peroxide. First, you can just lather it to areas, the face for example that are more acne-prone as a gentle way to introduce it into your routine. This also can be done on the body, for example on your chest or back, whether to the area around your nose, on your nose that may be affected by acne as well as on your chin and forehead. It is better to lather it in a very gentle manner using your fingertips in circular motions. This will help to direct the Benzoyl Peroxide down into the pores. Just leave the Benzoyl Peroxide lather on your skin for approximately 2 or 3 minutes. That’s all it takes for Benzoyl Peroxide to begin to localize where it needs to exert its control. After 2 or 3 minutes, then you just rinse off the mask that you’ve created with the lather. After rinsing, while the skin is still damp, lastly, use a moisturizer. This will further help you cut down on dryness and irritation. It is also important to wear sunscreen after you applied the moisturizer to protect your skin from the sun. Do not skip out the sunscreen for fear of flaring your acne, it’s an important part of acne control as well as in protecting your skin from the damaging effects of ultraviolet radiation.
Usually, it is used once or twice a day directly to your skin. Of course, it will depend on your skin condition. To safely use the PanOxyl Benzoyl Peroxide, doctors recommend using it every other day than using it daily. It is also safe to use for women on pregnancy.
Alternatives to Benzoyl Peroxide
If you’re looking for products that don’t contain Benzoyl Peroxide, let say it had a different effect on you or it worsen your acne, there are of course alternative products to that. Firstly you can consider using skincare products that contain the active ingredient salicylic acid. It is a carboxylic acid that is lipophilic, meaning it loves oil and grease. It concentrates on the oily surface of our skin, forehead, nose, and namely, it concentrates within our pore and that’s exactly where it needs to go to help in addressing the pathogenesis of acne. Salicylic acid will help unstick that goop and help in basically keeping pores from becoming clogged. In other words, it is a great treatment for blackheads and whiteheads as well as acne in general. We recommend this product.
Salicylic Acid Cleanser
This product helps to gently exfoliates your skin without over-cleansing or stripping your skin of its moisture.
